Answers about our nail services, booking, pricing, and visiting the salon in Coconut Grove, Miami.

General Salon & Booking Questions

Where is Mary Nails located and what are the hours?

Mary Nails is at 3139 Commodore Plaza, Miami, FL 33133, in Coconut Grove. Hours are Monday 9:30 AM–2:00 PM, Tuesday–Friday 9:30 AM–6:30 PM, Saturday 9:00 AM–5:00 PM, and closed Sunday. We do not guarantee walk-in availability; please book ahead.

How do I book an appointment at Mary Nails?

Book online through our official Square booking link to choose your service, date, and time. If you are unsure which service is right for you, call us at (786) 578-2520 and we will help you decide based on your natural nails and goals.

What information should I provide when booking?

Mention your current polish or enhancements, the finish you want, any design ideas, and whether you need removal of existing product. This helps us reserve the correct time and confirm that your chosen add-ons are compatible with your base service.

Does Mary Nails offer walk-in or same-day appointments?

We do not promise walk-in or same-day availability. Booking through Square in advance is the most reliable way to secure your preferred time. Call us if you have an urgent question about an existing booking.

Can I switch services after I book?

If your needs change, call us before your appointment so we can adjust the time. Some changes, such as adding removal or switching from a manicure to a full set, require extra time that we may not be able to accommodate without notice.

Does Mary Nails offer services other than nails?

No. Mary Nails is a nail salon only. We do not offer hair, makeup, lashes, brows, waxing, facials, or other beauty services. Our menu covers manicures, pedicures, hard gel, acrylics, Gel-X, nail art, and nail treatments and removal.

Manicures

What is the difference between a classic manicure and a basic gel manicure?

A classic manicure uses regular polish that air-dries and is easy to change or remove at home, but it is more prone to smudging and wear. A basic gel manicure uses LED-cured gel polish that sets hard with no drying time and typically wears for two to three weeks. We help you choose based on how long you want the color to last and how you use your hands.

Is the rubber base manicure better for weak nails?

The rubber base is designed for soft, thin, or flexible natural nails. Its flexible formula bends with the nail to reduce snapping and adds structure under the gel color. If your nails are healthy, a basic gel manicure may be sufficient; if they bend or lift easily, rubber base is usually the better fit.

How does Dazzle Dry differ from a gel manicure?

Dazzle Dry is a vegan, non-toxic system that air-dries in about five minutes without any lamp, while a gel manicure is cured under LED. Dazzle Dry offers gel-like wear of up to two weeks and removes easily with regular acetone. It is a good choice for clients who prefer a lamp-free, hypoallergenic formula.

What is the Russian manicure upgrade on a regular manicure?

The Russian manicure upgrade is an add-on to the regular manicure that adds Russian dry e-file cuticle care. It is not a standalone Russian manicure, and it is not added to hard gel or Gel-X services that already include Russian manicure prep.

What is the age limit for the kids manicure?

The Kids Manicure is for children aged ten and under. It uses gentle, non-toxic regular polish and is scaled to a child's comfort. It is not the same service as an adult manicure.

Can I add French tips or nail art to any manicure?

French tips, chrome, cat eye, and simple nail art are design add-ons layered on top of a manicure, not complete appointments. Book your chosen manicure and add the design. Not every add-on is compatible with every base service, so mention your idea when booking and we will confirm.

Pedicures

What is the difference between the basic, Dazzle Dry, and gel pedicures?

The basic spa pedicure uses regular polish that air-dries. The Dazzle Dry pedicure uses a vegan, non-toxic system that dries in about five minutes so you can wear closed shoes almost immediately. The gel pedicure uses LED-cured gel polish that stays shiny for weeks and is the most durable option for toes.

Is callus treatment included in every pedicure?

No. Callus Treatment is an add-on applied to a pedicure, not a standalone service and not automatically included. It uses a professional callus softener on tough heel build-up before smooth file reduction. It is most relevant for the deep and luxury pedicures but can be added to other pedicures when appropriate.

What is the Dazzle Dry upgrade price for a pedicure?

The Dazzle Dry lacquer upgrade for a regular pedicure is a separate add-on price. It is different from the manicure Dazzle Dry upgrade, so the manicure price does not apply to pedicures. Confirm current pricing on our price list or with the salon.

Can I add a French tip to my pedicure?

Yes, a Pedicure French Tip is an add-on layered on top of your chosen pedicure. It is a design addition, not a complete pedicure appointment. The pedicure French tip is separate from the manicure French tips add-on.

What is the age limit for the kids pedicure?

The Kids Pedicure is for children aged ten and under. It is a gentle, scaled-down service using non-toxic polish. It is not the same service as an adult pedicure.

Are pedicures a treatment for foot infections or medical conditions?

No. Our pedicures are cosmetic services. We do not treat infections, injuries, or medical conditions. If you have a foot concern that may be medical, please consult an appropriate healthcare professional before booking a cosmetic appointment.

Hard Gel & Russian Manicure

What is the difference between hard gel and gel polish?

Gel polish is a thin color coating cured under LED that sits on the natural nail. Hard gel is a structural sculpting gel that builds strength and, where chosen, added length. Hard gel is a full enhancement system, not simply a longer-lasting gel polish.

Does every hard gel service include the Russian manicure?

Yes. The hard gel full set services on our menu include Russian dry e-file manicure prep. You should not add a separate Russian manicure upgrade to a hard gel service, because it is already included and a second charge would be incorrect.

Do all hard gel lengths include extensions?

No. Short, medium, and long hard gel services can be built over your natural nails. Only the explicitly named Medium with Extensions option adds sculpted length. Do not assume every hard gel appointment includes added length.

What length options are available for hard gel?

Hard gel full sets are offered in short, medium, medium with extensions, and long. Each is a distinct price tier. Choose based on the length you want to wear and your lifestyle, and we will advise on shape and structure.

Does Mary Nails offer hard gel refills or fills?

We do not list a separate hard gel refill service on the current menu. If you have an existing hard gel set, contact the salon to discuss whether a fill, rebalance, or a fresh full set is the appropriate option for your nails.

How do I prepare for a hard gel appointment?

Tell us about any existing product so we can plan removal, which must be booked with a manicure. Arrive with clean, lotion-free hands if possible, and avoid cutting your cuticles at home beforehand. Share your preferred length and shape when booking.

Acrylic Full Sets & Fills

What is the difference between an acrylic full set and an acrylic fill?

A full set builds a complete new set of acrylic nails over your natural nails or tips. A fill refreshes an existing set by filling the growth gap at the cuticle and rebalancing the structure. A fill is only appropriate when your existing set is in good condition.

What length options are available for acrylic full sets?

Acrylic full sets are offered in short, medium, and long, each a distinct price tier. The Stiletto Full Set is a separate sculpted pointed shape, not the same as a long full set. Choose based on the length and shape you want to wear.

Does every existing acrylic set qualify for a fill?

No. A fill is only suitable when the existing set is in good condition with minimal lifting. If your set is heavily lifted, damaged, or very old, the salon may recommend removal and a fresh full set instead. Tell us about your existing set when booking so we can advise.

What do the 2 Weeks and 3+ Weeks labels on acrylic fills mean?

These labels identify the fill appointments on our menu based on growth time. They are not a universal maintenance recommendation. The right fill depends on your set's condition, not only on how long since your last visit.

Is the Stiletto Full Set the same as a long acrylic full set?

No. The Stiletto Full Set is a separate sculpted pointed shape with sharp points and strong sidewalls. A long full set is a length option, not a specific stiletto shape. They are different appointments.

How do I prepare for an acrylic appointment?

Tell us about any existing product so we can plan removal, which must be booked with a manicure. Share your preferred length and shape when booking. Avoid cutting your cuticles at home before your visit.

Gel-X

What is Gel-X and how is it different from acrylic or hard gel?

Gel-X uses pre-formed soft gel tips bonded over the natural nail with gel adhesive, then cured under LED. Acrylic uses liquid-and-powder sculpting, and hard gel is a structural sculpting gel. Gel-X offers instant length without acrylic odor or dust.

What length options are available for Gel-X?

Gel-X full sets are offered in short and in medium/long. The medium and long options share the same approved price tier. Choose based on the length you want to wear, and we will advise on shape and finish.

Does Gel-X include the Russian manicure?

Yes. The Gel-X full set services on our menu include Russian dry e-file manicure prep. Do not add a separate Russian manicure upgrade to a Gel-X service, because it is already included.

Does Mary Nails offer Gel-X fills?

We do not list a separate Gel-X fill service on the current menu. If you have an existing Gel-X set, contact the salon to discuss whether removal and a fresh full set is the appropriate option for your nails.

Can I add designs to a Gel-X set?

Yes. French tips, chrome, cat eye, ombré, and simple designs are add-ons layered on top of a Gel-X full set. Not every add-on is compatible with every service, so mention your idea when booking and we will confirm.

How do I prepare for a Gel-X appointment?

Tell us about any existing product so we can plan removal, which must be booked with a manicure. Share your preferred length and shape when booking, and arrive with clean, lotion-free hands if possible.

Nail Art & Finishes

Are French tips, chrome, and ombré complete appointments?

No. French tips, chrome, cat eye, ombré, and simple nail art are design add-ons layered on top of an eligible base service such as a manicure, pedicure, or enhancement. They are not complete appointments on their own.

What is the difference between manicure French tips and pedicure French tip?

Manicure French Tips is an add-on for a hand service, and Pedicure French Tip is an add-on for a toe service. They are separate add-ons with separate pricing. The manicure French tip price does not apply to pedicures.

How are nail gems priced?

Nail gems are priced as a set for either 2 nails or 10 nails, not per nail. The 2-nail option is one total price for those two nails, and the 10-nail option is one total price for all ten. Confirm current pricing on our price list.

What is the difference between simple nail art and simple design with stickers?

Simple Nail Art covers minimalist hand-painted touches such as lines, dots, or foil accents. Simple Design with Stickers is the owner's specific wording for a sticker-based design add-on. We do not assume all simple art is sticker-based; confirm what you want when booking.

Can you reproduce any inspiration image exactly?

We welcome inspiration photos to communicate the look you want, but we cannot promise exact reproduction of every image. Complexity, your nail shape and length, and product compatibility all affect what is achievable. Share your inspiration when booking so we can advise.

Is every design add-on compatible with every service?

No. Some finishes work only over gel or hard gel, and some are not compatible with every base service. Mention your desired combination when booking and we will confirm whether it is possible and how to schedule the time.

Removals & Add-Ons

Can I book gel polish removal by itself?

No. Gel Polish Removal must be booked with a manicure. We do not perform removal as a standalone service because the natural nail needs immediate care and a product decision after the old color is taken off. Mention your existing product when booking.

What does Nail System Removal cover?

Nail System Removal covers acrylic, Gel-X, hard gel, polygel, and dip. It must be booked with a manicure, never as a standalone appointment. Listing these systems for removal does not mean we offer new applications of every listed system.

Does Mary Nails offer new polygel or dip applications?

Polygel and dip appear in the removal service name only. We do not infer that new polygel or dip sets are offered. If you are interested in a specific system, contact the salon to confirm current availability.

What is the Russian manicure upgrade and when does it apply?

The Russian manicure upgrade is an add-on for the regular manicure only. It is not added to hard gel or Gel-X services that already include Russian manicure prep. Adding it to a service that already includes it would double-charge incorrectly.

Are paraffin and other treatments standalone services?

Paraffin wax treatments for hands and feet, the 4-step treatment, foot massage equipment, and callus treatment are add-ons that enhance a base appointment. They are not medical care and are not standalone appointments. Callus treatment is added to a pedicure.

Do you provide do-it-yourself removal instructions?

No. We do not provide aggressive at-home removal instructions. Forcing off gel or an enhancement system can damage the natural nail plate. If you need product removed, book the appropriate removal alongside a manicure so we can do it safely.

Prices & Appointment Preparation

Where can I see Mary Nails' prices?

Our price list page shows the owner-supplied prices for our main services and add-ons. Add-on prices are additional to the selected base service. For services not on the supplied price sheets, contact the salon or check the booking menu for current pricing.

Are add-on prices included in the base service price?

No. Add-on prices are additional to the selected base service. For example, French tips, chrome, or callus treatment are added on top of your manicure or pedicure price. We do not label add-on prices as standalone appointment prices.

Do you guarantee a fixed wear time or results?

No. We do not guarantee fixed wear times or results. How long any service lasts depends on your natural nail chemistry, daily use, exposure to water and chemicals, and aftercare. We give you realistic expectations for your situation.

Should I bring inspiration photos for nail art?

Yes, inspiration photos help us understand the look you want. We cannot promise exact reproduction of every image, but sharing references helps us advise on feasibility, complexity, and the right base service for your design.

Should I mention existing polish or enhancements when booking?

Yes. Tell us about existing gel, acrylic, hard gel, or Gel-X so we can plan removal, which must be booked with a manicure. This ensures we reserve enough time and can advise on the best next service for your natural nails.

Do you charge tax, deposits, or cancellation fees?

We do not publish tax, gratuity, deposit, or cancellation terms on the website. Confirm any policy questions directly with the salon when booking. We do not invent policies that have not been supplied to us.
